Changes at Climate Reality Europe

Updated: Feb 6, 2023

Dear Climate Reality Leaders,

As we move into 2023, we have some changes occurring at The Climate Reality Project’s Europe Branch. Zsolt Bauer will no longer be leading the program after seven years with the Europe Branch.

I first want to thank Zsolt for his leadership throughout the years. During his time with the branch, we hosted a Climate Reality Leadership Corps Training in Berlin, established a national and regional coordinator system, and launched a just transition program, among other milestones. And of course, Climate Reality Leaders have worked on key issues such as climate justice and supported three separate UN climate conferences held in Europe. At each step, Zsolt was there to offer support and guidance, and I wish him the best in his next steps.

Gosia Rychlik has agreed to act as interim branch manager, in addition to her work on communications and development, and Jessica Besch will continue in her role on programs and engagement. Climate Reality’s International Team will also play an increased support role as we begin the search for new leadership. This process will begin as soon as possible.

As things change within our global community, the climate crisis continues and so does our responsibility to meet the moment. It’s Climate Reality Leaders like you that make our organization special, and the future of The Climate Reality Project depends on your continued efforts. I want to again express our appreciation for Zsolt and for all of the dedication and hard work each of you do as a Climate Reality Leader, both with and separate from our organization. With you and our team in Europe, the future is bright.

Sincerely,

Ethan Spaner International Program Director The Climate Reality Project
