European Climate Diplomacy & Policy
Mobilising communities to strengthen climate ambition across Europe
Climate policy decisions made in Europe and in international negotiations shape global emissions, public finance, and the pace of the fossil fuel phase-out. We work with Climate Reality Leaders, Climate Hubs, and partners to support ambitious climate policy, strengthen international climate diplomacy, and counter misinformation that undermines climate action.
Why European Climate Policy Matters
European climate policy and international climate negotiations influence energy systems, economic investments, and emissions reductions across the continent and beyond.
Strong climate commitments depend not only on governments, but also on informed communities, civic participation, and public accountability. When citizens, civil society organisations, and local communities engage in climate policy discussions, climate ambition becomes stronger and more resilient to political pressure.
Our work supports communities and Climate Reality Leaders across Europe to understand key policy developments and participate in shaping climate decisions.
Our Approach

Climate Diplomacy & COP
International climate negotiations are key moments for global accountability and ambition.
We support Climate Reality Leaders and communities by:
-
Providing accessible briefings on climate negotiations
-
Translating complex diplomacy into clear information and action
-
Collaborating with international climate coalitions
-
Connecting negotiation outcomes to local action
European Climate Policy
& Advocacy
In collaboration with Climate Action Network Europe, Beyond Fossil Fuels, and the Climate Coalition UK.
European climate policy shapes energy systems, public finance, and the pace of the transition away from fossil fuels.
We work in close collaboration with leading climate coalitions - including Climate Action Network Europe, Beyond Fossil Fuels, and the Climate Coalition UK - to support ambitious, science-based climate policies across Europe.
Our role is to translate complex policy developments into clear and accessible information so that communities, Climate Reality Leaders, and Climate Hubs can understand what is happening and how they can engage.
Countering Climate Disinformation
Climate misinformation and fossil fuel narratives continue to delay climate progress.
We equip our network with the knowledge and tools to:
-
Recognise misleading climate narratives
-
Understand fossil fuel industry's influence on climate action
-
Promote fact-based climate communication
-
Strengthen public trust in climate solutions
Resources for Climate Policy Engagement
We provide accessible tools and learning materials to help communities understand climate policy and participate in advocacy.

Climate Hubs:From Local Communities to European Climate Policy
Climate Hubs play a key role in connecting local climate action with European policy discussions.
Across Europe, Climate Hubs:
-
Organise community discussions about climate policy
-
Engage with national and local decision-makers
-
Participate in consultations and advocacy actions
-
Amplify climate diplomacy moments such as COP
Climate action is a democratic project.
Policies, investments, and international negotiations determine our climate future
- but citizens have the power to shape those decisions.
Across Europe, communities are organising, learning, and engaging with policymakers to accelerate climate progress.
Together, we can build stronger climate leadership.
