How climate-friendly is your city?

Cities are where climate action becomes reality. They shape how we move, heat our homes, protect green spaces, and prepare for a changing climate. Yet while many municipalities already have climate plans, few residents know what those plans contain - or how they can help improve them.

That's why Climate Reality Europe is launching Cities in Transition: Getting Started, a practical online workshop designed to help citizens take their first step towards engaging with local climate action.

During this two-hour interactive session, participants will learn how to use the City Climate Action Assessment Checklist to review their own city's climate plan, identify strengths and opportunities for improvement, and develop one practical recommendation they can share with their municipality. Working alongside other participants from across Europe, they'll discover that meaningful climate action doesn't always begin with a campaign - it often begins with understanding what your city has already committed to.

The workshop is designed as a starting point. Participants will leave with an initial assessment of their city, practical next steps for continuing the work individually or with their Climate Hub, and ideas for engaging local decision-makers as part of Zero Emissions Day and beyond.

Whether you're already active in your community or simply wondering how to get started, this workshop will provide the knowledge, tools, and confidence to turn curiosity into action.
