Europe helping drive global climate action: Highlights from Climate Reality's 2025 Impact Report

The Climate Reality Project has published its 2025 Annual Impact Report, showcasing what our global network accomplished during a year of significant political and climate challenges. The report highlights how our advocates around the world continued to organize, educate, and push for ambitious climate action - and we're especially proud to see the Europe Branch featured across many of these achievements.

As one of Climate Reality's ten international branches, Europe played an important role in advancing the organization's mission throughout 2025.

One of the year's defining moments was the launch of the REALITY® Tour in Paris, where nearly 800 new Climate Reality Leaders were trained ten years after the Paris Agreement. The event brought together climate experts, policymakers, and advocates from across Europe and helped inspire a new generation of climate leaders. Following the training, many participants joined our newly launched Climate Hubs programme, strengthening grassroots action in cities across the continent through local advocacy and city climate assessments.

Climate Reality Leaders in Europe also helped shape climate policy at multiple levels. They sent hundreds of letters to Members of the European Parliament calling for stronger climate commitments and contributed to campaigns that supported Katowice's decision to join the Powering Past Coal Alliance, marking an important milestone for one of Poland's historic coal regions. The report also highlights advocacy supporting efforts to stop new fossil fuel developments, including the Rosebank oil and gas project in the UK.

Europe's contribution extended beyond emissions reduction. Climate Reality Leaders participated in campaigns encouraging stronger climate commitments from international financial institutions, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, helping reinforce the shift toward financing a just clean energy transition.

European Leaders also contributed to global efforts to strengthen international climate governance. Together with thousands of Climate Reality Leaders worldwide, they supported campaigns calling for reform of the UN climate negotiations, including sending over 8,000 postcards and letters urging greater transparency and limits on fossil fuel industry influence at COP.

These achievements formed part of a remarkable year for the global Climate Reality network. In 2025, the organization trained more than 3,400 new Climate Reality Leaders, supported the passage of 21 climate laws and policies, helped advance over $73 billion in climate finance, and continued growing a movement that now includes 4.5 million advocates worldwide.

These successes were only possible thanks to the commitment of Climate Reality Leaders, volunteers, partners, and supporters across Europe. Every local campaign, letter, meeting, training, and community initiative contributed to a global movement working toward a more just, resilient, and fossil fuel-free future.
