Activism nowadays can seem hopeless. Frustrating. Tiring. But being in a community reminds us that there is strength in connection. Real change begins when we come together to learn, dream, and act.
From 6 to 17 October, more than 70 participants from across Europe and beyond brought their experience, curiosity, commitment, and passion for justice to the training. Each one of them transformed the virtual space into a true collective journey: one of learning, reflection, and hope.

Across six interactive sessions, participants connected the dots and acknowledged the interconnections between the different crises. They reflected on their privileges and dared to fearlessly stand in solidarity with those communities that are often portrayed as victims, but who are actually the real change makers.
“The Climate Justice Training was an enriching and eye-opening experience that deepened my understanding of the connections between climate change, social equity, and community resilience.” training participant
Katelynne Herchak from VIDEA opened the session by sharing her story as an Indigenous person and reflecting on the values advocates and practitioners should embody when working with frontline communities. Another session brought together science, community work, and storytelling to highlight the importance of inclusive climate adaptation strategies, reminding us that tackling climate injustice starts with truly knowing our communities.
Through a community mapping exercise, participants explored how interconnected we are, the power dynamics at play, and the potential for meaningful collaboration. Addressing sustainable activism also meant creating space for emotions. Juni Sinkkonen from Tunne Ry guided participants in recognizing their eco-emotions and transforming them into a source of strength and action.
The final session offered a moment of inspiration, featuring Climate Reality Leaders presenting their climate justice initiatives. The Brazil Branch shared their newly launched Climate Rights Manifesto, while Ilaria Quotta and Samira Ben Ali showcased people power through powerful examples of climate litigation.
“Thank you so much for this opportunity and giving us the space to share our hearts and be vulnerable in a transformative way.” training participant
This training ended, but our work for climate justice continues: in our communities, our actions, and within ourselves.
Thank you to all the participants, speakers and co-organizers for yet another successful year!
